Thanks a lot Hardesh! :) Also, one more question:I have a list of about 1000 items, most of them have attachments sizing upto 10MB. Now I need to move items based on certain conditions into a different list (Archive List). Is it possible by employing some code? Can someone tell me what is to be done. I can have a looping workflow run on it, but still I need an alternative which is not OOTB. Thank you so much!!UKJ

You could try the SharePoint Content Deployment Wizard. Export the 3000 items in three buckets, then upload each to a different folder. I've not tested it, but I used it for a large deployment with a similar type of load where we had to migrate items across site structures and it worked fairly well for that.You can find it on Codeplex here:http://spdeploymentwizard.codeplex.com/hope this helps

Thanks! I read through the literature, and as per my understanding, it will definitely support the movement of items from one list to another within same site collection. But in order to have the items bulk moved, I first need to sort it out based on my requirements and then move it. Right? Thanks! UKJ

you can sort your items before and and after you move them its up to you but i prefer sorting them before so that you can know which items need to be moved or they are obsolete or not
