How to access an external hard disk that appears as invalid Dynamic disk ?

The external disk shows up as invalid Dynamic Disk 2 in Disk Management of Windows 7.  It is disk in an enclosure with Windows 10, application programs and data on it.  It became inaccessible, but has no disk errors per the F2 check. Is there any way to  access the disk to retrieve data and application programs?  The Windows 10 failure is the result of running Registry Repair Pro software and making the repairs.  If the disk can be accessed, is there is a way to undo the registry repairs by restoring a shadow copy of the registry?

Please help!  Many thanks.

Hi,

To retrieve the data you should be able to connect the drive to another computer and browse it as an ordinary disk.

If you have a System State backup of your OS, created by Windows Server Backup, this could help you restore your system back to a time before you did the registry-change.

I think however your question could be better answered in one of the Windows 10 forums as this is the forum for laptop protection with DPMs feature client protection.

Kind Regards
