How to Upgrade Report Models from Report Builder 1.0/2.0 to 3.0
We are planning to convert/upgrade all our reporting components (built in SSRS 2005 native mode) in order to fit to the newly configured SSRS 2012 SharePoint 2010 Integrated in one of our environments. Looking at the MSDN site, We were able to find a way to upgrade RDLs to a later version. The only thing that we can't find is upgrading the report models from SSRS 2005 (Report Builder 1.0) to the SSRS 2012 SharePoint 2010 Integrated environments (Report Builder 3.0). Searching further, I see the following link "http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/d0b397e3-79e7-4deb-bd63-c454cc6fa2f5" in which we can only change the default for the ReportBuilder. I am not sure if this one will work for us because sooner or later, this newly SSRS 2012 SharePoint 2010 integrated environment will be hosting all other new report models that will be built in latest version (Report Builder 3.). I have a hunch that we should be re-writing all our report models (built in Report Builder 1.0 or 2.0) into Report Builder 3.0. Am I correct? If not, is there any other way we can address this concern? \ Your response will be very much appreciated.

Hello, SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services does not include tools for creating or updating report models. Although you can continue to use existing report models as data sources in SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services reports you should consider updating your reports to remove their dependency on report models.
