How to Reduce the Size of the sharepoint config log file,if i Shrink log file then its any affect on my sharepoint server means ansy data lose or some config error. Please help me Regards Sanjeev Tiwari

Hi Sanjeev, I dont see any problem when your Log file of your configuration database is being truncated. If you hold that data important, better have a backup plan for storing your Log file and then proceed with the Shrink operation. Let me know if it helpsBR, PM

Generally shrink will remove unwanted/unused data/space from log file. so it should not hamper other operations. also if you take timely back up and don't want a big log files at all you can set recovery model as simple, then it will reduce the log file size and will not grow big anytime.. refer this to change recovery model option.Regards, Vikas Patel.
