How to Fix the SCCM client issue in a server

Hi All,

i would like to discuss the steps that we need to take for solving the sccm client issue

I have been performing the following the re installation of client for fixing the  issue and there are some occasions where the issue wont fix. It keeps the same result and iam unable to run the cycles .  i will restart the server after the re installation of client but even then the issue persists .

Any suggestions and techniques , please let me know

Thanks

Hi Torsten,

When i try to run the cycles , i would be getting an error "unable to run the cycle" . after i checked the setup log, i understand there are some issues with the sccm client such as only specific cycles are present in configuration manager .

So then i uninstall the sccm client and then reinstall the same  . But there are some cases this is not working . ven after re installation, iam unable to run the cycles .

Thanks

Hi Richard,

I dont think there is any DNS issue on the server .. since iam able to search or push anyother info from the server

Even then, could you please tell me how can i cross verify whether there is no DNS issue on server ?

You are trying to install the configuration manager client on a server yes?

Do you only have 2 actions listed in the actions tab of the client on the server?

I take it the server has a static IP.

If you ping the name of the server and also do a ping -a IP does they both match.

In the SITE tab of the configuration manager client in control panel click configure settings, enter the 3 digit site code and click find site.

You could also temporarily disable any firewall on the server and try the above to see if it's firewall related.

Thanks Richard,

I verified the above mentioned steps and confirmed that there is no issue with the DNS .

Thanks for the steps ...

But i didnt find a solution for fixing the issue

Check the log file ClientIDManagerStartup.log on the client.

In the actions tab on the client how many options do you have?

Hi Richard,

I can see  4 options on the client tab .

but meanwhile  i found that some of the machines dont have the 3 digit site code . do i need to enter the site code manually or it should take the site address automatically ?

is there a way that i could fix the issue with site code and also if you have any further details about the fix related to DNS issue on the server, please let me know .

Thanks in Advance for your valuable suggestions
