How to Document Sets from a same content type/metadata/column?
Hello, Specialist Who can give me some clue about "How to Document Sets view from a same content type/metadata/column?" For instance: I have a content type, which is used in many document libraries or list in many sites/subsites under same site collection, and now I want to collect all documents which are created from same contenttype in different document libraries in all sites/subsites, does anyone can advice me the steps? this is another problem in this question too, "how to get all document libraries created from this content type/column/metadata"? Thanks! DreamingCathttp://www.dreamingcatstudio.com

If you're running MOSS, then CQWP will go a long way to finding all the documents in a site collection who are based off the same content type. The second part is a confusing. Libraries aren't created from content types. CT's can be attached to a library, which is probably what you mean. There's no out of the box UI or tool to generate that kind of report. You could write some code that iterates thru all the libraries, inspects what CT's are available and so on. If you have CQWP available to you, you could probably write up some XSL that parses the URL of docs it finds to generate a conslidated view of every library that at least has one document based on the target CT. --Paul Galvin, Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) Microsoft MVP - SharePoint Blogging @ http://feeds.feedburner.com/PaulGalvinsSharePointSpace Twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/pagalvin
