How show Fullname of local user in a single server instead of his login name ?
As far as I can read your message, you are saying that the answer you received did NOT work.
Because
there was a
hint -
add (and in future edit) a
user to manually
. Patrik Vyas's post prompted
me
to solve
the problem by edited users data in Sharepoint directly.
But problem with automatic filling field Fullname of a user in Sharepoint still alive.
This
problem
may be require
a
separate topic.

Have:
Standalone Server 2003 R2 SP2 En, not in domain, server name is SPS ;
In this server: ISA Server 2006 SE, WSS 3.0 SP2 (Sharepoint Services).
On
the server
set up about twenty local users
with names like user_1, user_2... etc.
, who connect to Sharepoint.
In sharepoint's pages and webparts the user's names shows like
SPS\user_1 .
How show user's name as fullname (field in his local account) ?

Hi,
Go to users on local machine
Then check user name property
You have to change the Full Name so that that name will be appear in SP site.
Also when you add user to site please check it will be reflected on SP site as well.
After changing user's full name you have to re add the user to take effect.Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/

Thanks. Because users have been added to Sharepoint I simple just edit his names in Sharepoint root site (sn Properties).
But when I have added new user with filled Fullname field in local servers users, Sharepoint not imported this full name and I can see again
SPS\test_user .
