You have to install something, as SSIS comes with SQL Server. I'm not sure if installing the SSIS service alone is enough (are all the necessary run time components installed with the SSIS service? I don't know...) Anyway, to have SSIS, you need a SQL Server license, so you might as well install SQL Server.MCTS, MCITP - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.

A SQL Server licence of Standard Edition or higher is required. Installation of the SSIS shared services is required. You do not need to install a SQL Server database instance. Talk to me now on
