How recover secondary site if server is decommissioned...

Hi,

I have 1 SCCM 2012 primary server and its 4 secondary servers. Mistakenly one of the secondary server has been decommissioned and there is no backup of that. kindly help  how do i get back the secondary server functional again.

You can't. You will need to re-build it from scratch.

Its true that you will have to install the secondary site again. However its not a major worry as your client data for the clients reporting to Secondary would have got replicated to Primary DB.

You have to reinstall the server to another server and as its a gateway server all the data would have been already flowed upwards and i don't think there would be an issue you may need a change raised for it.

Be careful using the word "gateway". For what you've described, it is correct to call it a gateway but the word gateway has a very specific networking connotation that is not applicable to secondary site servers.

Kind of yes, kind of no. Client data is always submitted to (and of course stored in) the primary site DB. Using the word replication here implies that the data is replicated from the DB on the secondary site to the primary site DB -- this is not at all correct. That may not have been your intention with your statement, but use of the word replication in a ConfigMgr context implies (or least will be interpreted by many as) DB replication.

The spirit of you statement is correct though.
