How far back does the history go?
Hi, When looking at performance history, for example CPU under Microsoft Windows Server, the history only goes back a couple weeks or so. Does SCOM purge everything older than this, or does it archive it some how? How can I view older data? Thanks.

Hi There are 2 places where performance history is kept: 1) OperationsManager database - you view this data in the monitoring > performance views. Default is for 7 days worth of data but this can be changed via Administration, Settings, Database Grooming. 2) OperationsManagerDW database - this is the reporting data warehouse. You can report against data up to 400 days old. You can see \ manipulate these settings: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2010/01/05/understanding-and-modifying-data-warehouse-retention-and-grooming.aspx So to view older data, use reporting.
