Sorted. Cheers Torsten. Ihad deleted the site system roles but on right clicking the "site system" I had no delete option. Upon refreshing the console the right click "Delete" Option Apeared.

I had no such luck. I've been able to delete all of the roles except for ConfigMgr Component Server and ConfigMgr Site Sytem. I cannot delete them or the Site System? What am I missing??!?!?!

Try to reboot your server, I had the same problem and the reboot gave me the delete option on the site server I was trying to remove.

I removed a site system, I thought correctly. However, everytime I go to create an Update Deployment Package it fails because it cannot push to the removed server. I have removed the server from AD also. This is problably related to the fact the server crashed before I removed it from SCCM and therefor could not interact with SCCM. How do I remove this orphaned site system? Thanks.

What is failing exactly? Are you talking about a DP that is no longer existent?
April 26th, 2010 11:16pm

Yes. Everytime I create a Software Update package now it tries to distribute to the non-existent server that used to be a DP. It tries 100 times before it gives up.

The componet server and site system are removed automatically after some time when you have deleted all other roles .... i beleve.

Guineapig1 is (mostly :) ) correct. Wait long enough and the Component Server role will go away and you can then delete the Site System. Per the links earlier in this thread, all roles, plus the Component Server role must be gone before you are able to delete the Site System. In my case I just restarted the Site Component Manager Service to give it a bit of a kick and was then able to delete the server...
