How do i find updates that break my task sequence?

How do i find updates that break my task sequence?
I have gone through the list of double reboot patches and i have noen of the mentioned sinners.
I cant find the KB numbers in any logs.

Update 10.09.2015

Removing the patches from august from OSD fixes the problem. Howewer i still need to identify the patch or patches causing problems.

Update 11.09.2015

KB3080333 Silverlight

and KB3079757 have been tested and are not the cause.

Romoved a .net patch to see if its the culprit.

Hi,
That is hard work, as normally many updates are installed at the same time and the issue doesn't present it self until reboot.

I would read the KB articles for the latest updates you deployed, have you deployed the updates from this month patch tuesday aswell? if sp I would start with excluding them could be thaat the KB article isn't up to date yet.

Regards,
Jrgen

Did that ever work for you? I've only had limited success so far.

In my case it did. Both of my Windows 7 Capture TS (x86 & x64) were failing before R2 SP1 with "Task Sequence environment not found" in smsts.log before. Since i enabled this Option both Task-Sequences don't break anymore after the "Install Software Updates"

No i believe these are the august patches causing problems. I have removed them and will test without them deployed to OSD. I just hoped there would be a better way to actually identify the troublesome update(s)

None of these are deployed to OSD. I checked this before deploying.

What does smsts.log say?

Just a massive amount of TS deleting 'CCM_CIVersionInfo.PolicyID.....

Nothing useful.

I have now removed the august updates and my task sequence is no longer broken.

Howewer i still need help identifying the update in question. Main suspect is the silverlight update KB3080333 as this has not been installed on the test machine.

Check the smsts-DATE-TIME.log, this one should contain the relevant data.

I did check all of them :)
Just lots and lots of lines with 'CCM_CIVersionInfo.PolicyID.....

And then a few lines at the end With some other bits. But searching for update, patch or anything like that shows nothing of interest.

Any hints on what im looking for?

What are the symptoms of the Crash? Does the Task-Sequence stop after a double reboot and the Login Screens is beeing displayed? If yes search for "Task Sequence environment not found" in the smsts.log and smsts-date
