How do I reinitialize FIM without having to redo all the configuration files ?
I have configured a FIM instance with all the aggregate configuration files from Synchronization Rules, Sets, Workflows, MPRS, and loaded all the users, established proper EREs, DREs, etc. But the road to that end was fraught with several iterations of Full Imports, Full Syncs, Exports on several iterations of MAs configured, reconfigured, deleted, etc... I have a total of 8204 user objects in FIM, but after the processes mentioned above, I have so far bloated my FIMService database to 13GB. So I wanted to start the process of populating the FIM users objects from the ground up: I deleted connector spaces on a total 12 MAs and have validated that there is no metaverse entries that exist. I deleted all the FIM user objects via the ScriptBox Powershell, except of course for the Administrator, all of the 8204 users were not visible to the FIM Portal Yet, I still have 13GB of data in my FIMService database..... When I attempted to run my scripts to recontruct my FIM user objects by going the routine of performing the FIMMA initialization, I am getting an Adds: 47780 objects in my FIMMA Full import step. I find that these objects were DRE, ERE entries on the user objectsthat I have previously deleted. I want to do a fresh start from a clean database (but with all the configuration files intact) How can I do that ? Am I missing a step somehow ? How can I get the database initialized to where it will only contain FIM configuration data and no end-user data to start with ?

Sounds like you would like to migrate the configuration from one installation to another. Here is the tool which will do just that: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee534906(WS.10).aspx Thanks & Regards, Jameel Syed Principal Consultant, fimGuru - Your window into simplified identities jameel.syed@fimguru.com - http://www.fimguru.com
