How do I group by a person and group column type that allows multiple selections?
What I've got & what I want to do - Got - Project List (created by importing a spreadsheet then adding and changing column types) with an Owner column with a column type = Person or Group that allows multiple selections. Do - I want to create a view that will group the projects by the owners. It's ok to show one project within the grouping of multiple owners. The view will be used to determine who has too many, not enough or just the right number of projects. I am a Site Collection Administrator. I cannot add anything to the server. Tools available - SharePoint (MOSS) 2007 Enterprise. SharePoint Designer 2007 and InfoPath 2007. -Thanks Tamara Bredemus SharePoint Minion...working up to Maven

The problem is that Grouping doesn't work when there are more than one item in the field/column on which you are grouping. So in order to get the standard Grouping to work you will have to think of a way to have a single value. If for instance you always get values Fred and Jim at the same time you could have a new column used for Grouping that contains the value "Fred+Jim" and so on for other combinations. 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.

POOH! I would even be willing to create a view for each person that could be an Owner and then list all the views on a web part page, but I can't even figure out how to filter on the People or Group column by contains. :(Tamara Bredemus SharePoint Minion...working up to Maven

I found a way. Create a single line of text column called Owner txt Use SPD to set Owner txt value to Owner (mulitple people. usually less then 4 people) Create a view for each person with filter set to Owner txt contains (insert last name of Owner) Name each view for each person Create a web part page and display the views of the list for each person This is easy when there are only 5 or 6 people in the group. Not so much when there are 20 or 30.Tamara Bredemus SharePoint Minion...working up to Maven
