How change I change the description I used when capturing the image via task sequence
How change I change the description I used when capturing the image via task sequence?
I entered the wrong description for an Image I captured using the "Capture Operating System Image" (aka. Capture the Reference Machine) step in SCCM OSD. I want to change this so it is correct. I can't seem to change it as it is NOT the description
that is seen when looking at the image added to SCCM and it is not the "Image Index=1" description. The image index I can change but I want to change the other description. See my output below. The
bold and italic is the one I want to change.

i think you will have to re-capture it, or at least write the image out (/apply) and then either (/append) to a new image index within the WIM and specify the desired description, or, instead of (/append), you could (/capture) to a new WIM and specify
the desired description.
You would need to do this outside of ConfigMgr. and afterwards you'd need to tell ConfigMgr about the new WIM filename or the new WIM imageindex number, within your OSD.

I don't think any of the /append or /apply will work as I haven't found anything thus far that will edit the description that I have highlighted above. They only edit the Image index 1 descriptions. From what I have been able to see ImageX doesn't
seem to do anything for the <OSD> part of the WIM. It seems as though only SCCM uses or enters this and I have no way of getting back to it.
I would rather not recapture it if there i any other options available would use them first. Other suggestions?Find this post helpful? Does this post answer your question? Be sure to mark it appropriately to help others find answers to their searches.
