How can i assign permissions to all documents inside a document set ? - SharePoint 2013

Hi All,
I have created some document sets and i did use a workflow to assign specific users to these document sets thinking this will cascade to files in the document set.

But it seems users cant see the files under the document sets as they don't have permissions.

Can i use a workflow to assign permission to all documents under the document sets? If yes will sharepoint designer do the trick.

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

The documents within your document should be visible if the security is not broken on the item level. If it's normal that the permissions are broken, take a look at the link provided before

but reading your post, I feel that you are surprise with this permissions break. You should maybe just take a look a the document creation process to see why the permissions are broken

Thanks Mahesh.
What i need is a workflow to assign permissions to items inside the document set.
In the document set i have a column called assign users and this is where i store the users i want to assign permissions too.

Hope you understand what im trying to do

Thanks Chris
The document creation has a workflow that replaces item permission on the document set.
The users are picked from a field called assign users added in the document set properties.

I was hoping setting the item permissions on the document set would be enough but it seems i also need to set permissions on the item level :(

The question is what type of workflow can i create to go through the items under a document set and assign these permissions.

Thanks in Advance
