How can administrator see who defined alerts and datetime it was defined?
I am using wss 3.0.Recently I received some complaints that some users are getting alerts that they had not subscribed themselves for it. I could check the list of people who are getting alerts but I would like to know who created those alerts for these users and when it was defined? Also I would like to know above even for deleted alerts. This is because some users may have deleted alerts in the last hour or so but it will help us to troubleshoot even for deleted alerts. Please suggest me if I can get the above out-of-box or central admin or logs or through CODING.Thanks.

Hi,If this is one time task which y0u would be using for investigation you can get this informatin in SharePoint content DB. There are four tables used for alertsEventCacheEventLogImmedSubscriptions SchedSubscriptionsHere is the link for more details. http://vspug.com/dailysps/2004/07/07/retrieving-alerts-programmatically/I am not sure whether you would be getting the information who subscribed for some one else.If you are a site collection administrator you can go to Site Action-->Site Setting-->Modify ALL Site Settings-->User Alerts to check who has alerts set up on the site. Thanks,Skancharla

thanks for reply.I have site collection admin privileges and I have seen list of alerts. Problem is I do not know 'created by' & 'Created datetime'. I would also like to setup the ability such that users can set alerts only for themselves & not for others. Is it possible?
