How can I query the document content only

Hi there,

my customer wants to enable the users to specifically search the file content only. We are talking about a document center managing thousands of documents and their meta data. Text files, Office documents and PDF files. In order to find specific documents users are able to query specific meta data fields (columns). And also the document's content should be queryable separately.

I looked around in the Managed Properties but wasn't able to find one matching for our requirement. There are some called Content and Body. But when I query them the results are not what I need.

Any help and support is appreciated. Thank you in advance,

Kristof

Thank you very much for the links. But it is no option for me to remove the meta data fields from the full text index. Users must be able to query those fields as well. What I need is the name of the Managed Property or the Crawled Property which contains the document content. So I can build a KQL query to only query this Property. Something like this DocumentContent:searchterm
