My query is not exactly as I've mentioned in my title but, I think there's some problem in managing my account. Earlier I was logged in through my Microsoft account on my laptop, but as I updated it to Windows 10, I was just exploring and in that process I made a local account and logged in through that. Now, the settings won't change at any cost. The link "sign in with a Microsoft account instead" isn't responding. to check if the other links are working, I removed my Microsoft account from the other accounts section. Is there really a problem with Account settings or it is only me facing this problem? Kindly help.

So your issue is that you cannot sign in with a Microsoft account. And please tell use which settings won't change as you expected?

For the Microsoft account issue, please try this:

1.) Delete any cache of Microsoft account sign-in.

Settings -> Accounts, under "other accounts you use", remove all.

2.) Next, delete any local accounts that are specific to Microsoft accounts. 

Control Panel->User Accounts ->Manage another accounts, delete the Microsoft account if applicable.

3.) Change your group policy GPO. 

Navigate to

Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies/Security Options/Other/Accounts: Block Microsoft Accounts

Make sure this policy is disabled.

4.) Edit your registry. Navigate to

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities

see if there is the account that is giving you trouble. If yes, delete it.
