How can I add lenovo drivers into SCCM.

Hello All,

I am little stumped. I have imported drives for variosue Dell models into SCCM 2012. I just downloaded a bunch of drivers for Lenovo T420s laptops and tried to import them into SCCM 2012 R2 but because they are .exe and not .INF they are not showing up in the path. What is the best way to go about getting the actual .INF? When I extract the driver with 7-Zip this is what it looks like

Thanks in advance

Using 7-zip won't help. Have you tried running the exe on a lab system? Many driver exes are simply self-extracting executables and will dump their content to a temp folder where you can get them to copy to your driver import repository. Some driver installers have additional functionality in addition to actually installing the drivers like installing a service so simply extracting them may not be sufficient. You can also try to extract the drivers from an existing system -- there are a couple of freeware tools to help you do this. Finally, you may end just having to install the drivers using the exe during the Windows portion of the TS similar to installing an application using a package.

My approach has been to install the operating system in case to the machine manually, then install all the drivers and then use this tool https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/ConfigMgr-Driver-Injector-aae7d17d to 'grab' the installed drivers in a format that ConfigMgr understands.

Thanks Jason,

On Lenovo website I was able to download this All in one driver package designed for SCCM 2007 and 2012. I ran the install on my test pc and waiting for it to dump all of the categorized driver folders. I then copied them over to my SCCM 2012 server and pointed the SCCM driver Import to the folder and it pulled in the INF for each driver.

Thanks Narcoticoo,

I will try that tool. Anything to make this less painful and time consuming
