How big to Size the Database and Log Drives?
Where just getting ready to roll out SCCM, but I've been looking around and can't really find anything the gives any recommendations on how to size how much space I should be allocating to the disks for the SQL Database and logs. We are deploying one primary site and twelve secondarys and will have around 5000 clients. Can anyone give me something to work with on how big to size the drives. If I've been to vague and you want more information just let me know. Cheers Darren

5000 is a manageable size, so you should not need a lot. On the extreme side, I've seen 150,000 client sites run 300 GB. I'd guess you will not be likely to exceed 20GB for quite a while depending on what data you gather and what your settings are.

generally, assuming all features of SCCM are being used, allow ~2-3Mb per client plus 500mb for the SCCM DB.

I've blogged about my experience here - http://blog.danovich.com.au/2011/04/05/sccm-database-size/
