Hi,

I know how to install the DPM agent through DPM GUI or through manually. But first I would like to know how DPM agent installation works in the background ; like when I select the protected server; it makes a WMI query to check if that server is a part of cluster, standalone etc but I am not sure about the exact process. Please explain in detail how agent installation process works in detail. Also the only difference that I know between automatic and manual agent installation is that DPMAC is required in agent installation and it is not required if we are doing manually. If there are more difference then please explain in details.

If there are any specific DLL that comes in picture while installing the agent then please explain that as well.

I believe detailed explanation of product it is something like a "commercial secret". Vendor has a software product with features, you have requirements and installation procedures. I think if you want to get more details you have to refer to any open source backup solution.
