Hotfix description
Hey Guys, I´ve seen some hotfixes for SCCM 2007 SP2, like kb981640, kb981797 or kb982399. All of them present as pre-requisite the need for "must have (or must be running) System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2". And in some cases the main informations i "To resolve these issues, install this hotfix rollup on the affected System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 site servers. " Does anynoe know if the Secondary Site (also know as Distribution Point) need to have these kind of kbs updated? Regards, FabianoFabiano Montelo

I think it varies from one to another. Some only need to be loaded at primary sites and others at all sites. For instance the one for R3 needs to be loaded at all sites. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

I concur with John. Usually, if you try to install ahotfix that is not applicable to a system, it will tell you and exit gracefully. If you want to verify beforehand, check the list of affected files -- every KB has a list of files that are changed. You can then look for those files on the system. If they exist, the the hotfix is most likely applicable.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys
