Hi Tony, As this patch is applied to IIS6.0 & IIS7.0 whereas Windows Server 2008 R2 has IIS version 7.5, issues described in kb946517 should not occur in Windows Server 2008 R2. If you encounter similar issues on your Windows Server 2008 R2 server, please post it here for further troubleshooting. Thanks. Best Regards. Lily Wu

Hi Lily, My environment is WS 2008 R2 Moss 2007 SP2 The Index server every minute gets Event ID 6482 error. Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (470d50dc-f32a-44cb-bcee-a47302452119). Reason: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. Techinal Support Details: System.OverflowException: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.UnsafeNativeMethods.NetLocalGroupGetMembers(String groupName) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.UnsafeNativeMethods.TraceLocalGroups() at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance.Synchronize() at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerJob.ProvisionLocalSharedServiceInstances(Boolean isAdministrationServiceJob) Search is working fine so unsure what is kicking this off. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey Luis, Do you have custom code on your site? I tracked the issue down to some custom code which had memory leaks. The developers fixed the code and the issue went away. For more information check out my blog; http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/pagnusat_tony
