There is an inbuilt option in Microsoft office to recover ppt files. However you cannot utilize it in case major corruption occurs due to hard disk crash, system shutdown, virus attack. In that case, You need to take help of third party tool which is PPT recovery tool. It  deeply scans corrupt and damage ppt files and remove all error thus recovering all the data on it.
