Help with task sequence
senario: software 1 and software 2 is installed on a vista client. is it possible to make a task sequence that will uninstall soft 1 and 2, soft 2 need a restart after uninstalling, and after restart install soft1. I can make step 1-2 and the restart to work, but it fails when it has to install soft1.

Yes it fails, when it has to install after reboot.

I have enclose the tasks from from the status viewer, as u can see. the last tasks fails. If the install can make a log then I would make a log and see why it can't reinstall. Maybe registry entires are removed after the uninstall or something else is goine on. Are you downloading and running or running from the DP? http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

Create a software distribution package to install software 1 and in the program go to the advanced tab and check 'Run another program first' and select another package you have created that will uninstall Software 1 and 2 and reboot the device.
