I cannot run MS updates anymore

I cannot find a wirelss driver for my HP Envy dv6 laptop

Both MS and HP in Dubai are not equipped to assist me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I try to run updates I receive a message

"element not found"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to find a driver for Windows 7 or 8 for it.

Find the device in Device Manager in Windows 10. It will probably have a yellow triangle marking that there is an issue installing it.  Double click on it and go to the Details tab.  At the top choose Hardware Ids.  You may see a description such as PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_05411028&REV_06 or if it is connected to USB something like USB\VID_0DB0&PID_3871&REV_0101.

Then you can right click on the hardware Id to copy the info and search for drivers with Google.  If you already have a drivers folder on the hard disk for Windows 7 or 8 you could instead see if you already have the driver files needed and install them from what you have by choosing Browse my computer for driver software when you try to update the driver in Device Manager.

However there is no "hardware id tab"

You have to double-click on the device in question in the list in Device manager, then choose Details tab.  Then under Property, look for Hardware Ids, which is near the top of the list of Details available.

Sometimes devices show only as an Unknown device, but usually Windows has some idea of what type it is.
