Help configuring reporting services
Greetings, I'm hoping someone can help me with my authentication settings on SCCM Reporting Services. I've got the Reporting Services server setup and talking to the Configuration Manager database. Also, our domain does not have Kerberos enabled. I want my techs to be able to login to the Reporting Services URL to run reports but all I get are various connection errors based on my configuration. Currently, the only thing working is having an AD account with a read only account to the ConfiMgr database and the Reporting Services Data Source Authentication tab properties in Configuration Manager Console are set to: “Credentials stored securely in the report server” with the said user account credentials mentioned above “Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source” is checked Also, the account is an admin on the Site Server box (which I don’t want). Any other configurations and I get errors (they all differ depending on the options chosen). So I guess my basic question(s) are how do I get authentication for my individual techs without Kerberos enabled? Do I have to enable “Mixed Logon” mode for my ConfigMgr database? Do I have to make my users admins on the server (not a good idea)? I’m really struggling with this and the documentation out there is pretty vague. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Steve Thompson is the reporting services Guru, maybe he has an article that can help you. http://www.myitforum.com/contrib/default.asp?cid=1091 I agree the docs are vague. I had a hard time getting mine setup as well. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |
