Health Services not Running
Checking a computer that has an unknown status of software deployment, I forced a Detect Software and Updates Now. However, the server told me that it failed to submit the tasks for the following reason: Health Service 'WIL-DDT004.chch.loc' in which the location monitoring object is contained is not available. Make sure that the computer hosting the Health Service is available and verify that the Health Service is running. So I went to the SCE server and found some erorrs: Alert data collection process unable to write data to the Data Warehouse. Failed to store data in the Data Warehouse. The operation will be retried. Exception 'SqlException': Login failed for user 'SCEAdmin'. So I went to all the runas accounts and retyped the password. I also tried to login with this account and it worked fine. I am guessing the problem is on the SQL database. Anyone know how to fix this account with the SQL data Warehouse and reporting system?

Hello, Are you using SCE 2007 or SCE 2010? Did this issue occur on a specific computer or on every managed computer? What is the status of the Health Service on the problematic computer? For your reference, please check if the following thread helps: Login Failed Messages & Data Warehouse Errors http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenteressentials/thread/5b7fd804-bf04-4f8f-a964-6d171478e58b/ Thanks,Yog Li TechNet Community Support

Well, the password issues has been fixed. However, it looks like the machine that i am trying to test to update software is listing health service as not running. In fact, looks like this is common with tons fo computers in my domain. Any ideas?

Hello, Glad to hear the issue resolved. As the new report issue you mentioned is different from the one discussed in this current thread (which is a Health Service issue), we'd recommend that you start up a new thread for it. And please tell us some more details about this issue in the new thread. We generally focus on one topic in one thread because in this way it will be better for other community members to participate in the discussion, and to search/find specific answers more efficiently in the future. I am a bit confused since the original problem is about health services not running. I think what I am going to do is to remove all my clients form SCE 2010 and then when SCE 2012 comes out, I will install that and have them join. Maybe a fresh install will work out better. We also use Forefront and someone suggested that maybe the MOM agent that Forefront uses is bumping heads with the agent SCE uses and creating a problem with Health Services.
