Having more than 1 mandatory assignment. Which one will be executed?
Just want to ask, for software distribution advertisement, if i want to have 2 mandatory assignment, and set the 1st mandatory assignment to occur every one day and the 2nd is ASAP, it will execute the first one right. But when will it execute the 2nd one?

That could be very easily tested in a lab ... I *guess* that it will be executed every 24h beginning with the time the advertisement was received. Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

I do this all the time. The As Soon As possible will first (just after policy is receved or the available time is open), even if the date/time is set to run 2 or 3 later. Then it will start to kick off the "occur every one day at xxxx" http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

Ok. So means if i put the first mandatory assisgnment as to "occur every one day" and the second one is "ASAP", it will execute the first assignment and next time onwards it will receive the advert ASAP until the machine gets formatted right... But just want to know the process, how does SCCM knows that a machine has just formatted at this date and time? means after a machine has just been formatted, does the machine report back the (hardware/software inventory) status to primary server that ---- "Machine A has just formatted to Win7 at 23 May 2012 at 12.15PM. So any advertisement that has a mandatory schedule to occur every 1 day, machine A will only receive the advert at 24 May 2012 at 12.15PM" Means the next 24 hours.... I hope you understand what im trying to say cause i dont know how to explain it.... :)

Don't look at the Mandatory list as 1,2,3. They will all execute when they should. for example: Current date/time: Monday Jan 1, 2012, 12pm Mandatory Schedule: Every Tuesday at 12pm As Soon as possible Every Monday at 3pm -------------------- The machine will receive all these schedules and will run them in the appropriate order. It will first kick off the As soon as possible. Next it will run the Ever Monday and then the Every Tuesday when Tuesday comes. After the machine has formated and recevies the current policy it will act accordinly. Since it can't execute in the past, if you had something that was to run at 12pm 24 May 2012 it woudln't run. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com
