Has anyone set up a PFX certificate profile and deployed it successfully?

I am looking for some steps to do this.... only thing I have found is this https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt131410.aspx but my SCCM console does not give me the option to install the PFX file and it is a little light on the process for the ADK script. If anyone has any pointers here that would be great.

Ultimately I am trying to get a user certificate to iPADs so that they can connect to EAP-TLS WiFi using this user cert...... it is proving to be a challenge.

Thanks

Jody

Hi Jody,

What does it mean that "my SCCM console does not give me the option to install the PFX file "? You do not have the permission?

Hi Sue_ran

In step 4 (from the link above). I select Personal Information Exchange - Import. however on the next page I do not get the opportunity to browse to and import the pfx file (as you do if you select to import a Root CA cert)... it just presents the options listed in step 5. (see below)

Which I click next through, I then get to tick supported platforms and then it creates the Certificate profile. But there is no pfx file associated with it.... there must be some other steps that are required to do this? The article suggest using the SDK but I cannot see from this what I need to do.

Does that make sense?

Sorry it looks like the screen shot did not come out... but essentially it is a page that displays the options but no browse/import box.

I have set this up lots of times through the wizard and I felt sure I had to import one previously but I can't be sure as I have been testing a lot of different things.

I would suggest you submit this problem to Microsoft.

Hi Sue_ran

I have a case with them at the moment.... going round in a few circles at the moment but I am trying to drive it forward. I am sure this is common and is so easy to do in other MDM solutions so I am sure it must be possible, I just need pointing in the right direction.

Thanks

Jody

Hi Sue_ran

Do you have a test setup that you can use to see what options you  get when you follow the steps in the article? Do you get the option to import a pfx?

Hi Jody,

I don't have this option too.

Ok guys, I have been working a case with Microsoft and the result is a blog posting from the engineer to clarify the steps further. Here is the post.

http://blogs.technet.com/b/karanrustagi/archive/2015/09/01/how-to-create-and-deploy-pfx-certificate-profiles-in-configuration-manager.aspx

One other thing that was not clear to me is that the $username parameter is the username for the user that owns the devices that you want to deploy the pfx certificate profile to.

Next challenge is getting the wireless profile to actually use the certificate, which is not playing ball at the moment. :-S
