Hardware Scan date within Client Activity Summary not updating

Hello,

I have been looking into Hardware Inventory issues we have experienced whereby the Inventory Flow for a machine does not complete. However on that note we have seen the following annoyance:

A Hardware Inventory scan takes place on a client and is successful. This can be confirmed through the whole flow and then confirmed in the Workstation Status within Resource Explorer. Yet if we look at the Client Activity Summary the date for the Hardware Scan has not changed, and does not seem to change.

Where is the Hardware Scan date for the Client Activity held? Is it not the same Workstation Status table in the DB?

Thanks

It is normal that the Console will lag behind what is within the database/resource explorer, hence why I don't use it.  Generally it is only 24 hours behind.

When was the last HW inventory for this PC? Back in June??

Ok, thanks for quick response.

But why is this accepted as normal? Surely the date could come from the same location in the DB and be accurate?

Yes the machine has been off for a short time, and therefore wanted to run a Hardware Inventory check and follow the process through

Cheers

The reason is simple, performance reasons,  it need to query WMI for the data and not SQL directly.

Like i say, it is generally up to 24 hours out of date. Generally it doesnt matter, Personally I use Reports for this type of data.
