Hard disk monitoring with SCOM
Hi there I am searching for a way to have an overview (let me say a list) of a couple of servers. What i want to see in the list is the server name, the hard disk space and what the free space is on the hard disk. I have been searching in the system center operation manager 2007 program but i cannot find any way to have such an overview. Can someone help me on this? I would be very thankfull. Kind regards Sebastian

Hi Sebastian. I'm sorry to say that there is no column in the state view that will show free space. What you could do is create a view like the Disk Capacity under MS Windwos Server - Performance. Another way would be to use a state view for your disks and only see disk size and when they changes state.mats.w | www.opsmode.com

Hi Sebastian The reason you don't see Disk free space in a state view is due to the way that OpsMgr works - state properties are discovered when object properties are discovered and it is best practice to make sure that the properties do not change on a frequent basis otherwise it will cause Config Churn: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/10/05/what-is-config-churn.aspx You should be able to do what you want with a mixture of performance views which you could put into a dashboard with disk state.
