Hi, Learning SharePoint is depends upon your knowledge in .net and C#. SharePoint is build on top of .net framework, knowledge in C#,Asp.net will make to do hands on code in SharePoint easier.[Base is .net] For the Beginners try Inside Windows SharePoint Services book. Get the Idea of Webparts,Feature File,Master Pages, Layout pages and so on.R.Mani http://rmanimaran.wordpress.com

Hi, According to your description, the SharePoint community is vibrant, strong and growing larger all the time. You also want to look at the following to start to improve your SharePoint develop skill: 1. Blog: In the blog, you can read a dozen of useful issues which you are interested. If you wish, you can also create your own blog by yourself. 2. Forums: In the Forums, once you get a flavor of the environment, venture out and start replying. Short of directly interacting with a customer, nothing is better than this for hands on experience. 3. Codeplex: Go to www.codeplex.com and search for SharePoint projects. 4. Twitter: A lot of SharePoint folk have started using Twitter at present. Best regards David Hu

Thanks for the replies by Mani & David.... Already am working in sharepoint platform for quite some time. I have some understanding "HOW TO" develop/maintain in webparts, workflows & a little bit of master pages. However, would like to know #1) if this knowledge is good enough for me to approach like design, architect or give guidance for building a intranet/internet portal [collaboration/Knowledge Mgmnt] using either MOSS or SPS 2010. if NO, #2) What were the areas I need to concentrate in order to reach that level[design/architecting / or foreseeing the drawbacks of that requirements /whether sharepoint should be the correct solution for proposing]. #3) Is that ,i should concentrate on practising BDC, EXCEL SERVICES [MOSS],search/advn search or creating BCS/Visio services/PPS [ SPS 2010 ] etc ? thanks in advance!
