HP ProLiant Deployment Smart Array

Hello

As a workplacement we are trying to deploy 50 HP ProLiant Microservers gen8 with SCCM 2012.

If i Initialize the Smart Array in in Intelligent Provisioning, I can make the deployment.

My question is if it is possible to make this array in the Task Sequence.

I tried all kind of tools from HP, but I can't seem to find the right one. I find a lot of solutions for SCCM 2007, but none for 2012.

I read alot about the HP ProLiant integration kit and OneView. But when I install this, I don't get the Create ProLiant Deployment Task Sequence button.

Hi Tim,

You could check the HP ProLiant SCCM 2012 Integration Kit installation log if you don't have the ""Creat PriLiant Deployment Task Sequence" button. The installation log is named hpproliantsccm2012kit-install.log and is located in the Windows directory.

I recommend you ask a question in HP Forum.

If you don't want to add the HP integration to your ConfigMgr infrastructure, you can just do a package that contains this utility http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=MTX-311dda721cb5421eae2c422f7f

It's the Proliant Array Configuration utility, which can be used through "Run Commandline" -step along with .xml file that has the array configuration setted up.

Thank you for your response.

Does the SCCM 2012 Integration Kit still exist? Because i thought it was changed to HP OneView?

Could you give me a downloadlink of it, because I can't seem to find it via HP website or Google.

Thank you

Tim

Don't know about this new OneView -thing, sounds expensive...

HP Smart Storage Administrator CLI is the command line utility you can use to configure the smart array for HP servers. I've implemented this with simple package / program, you can preconfigure one server and save the configuration into a xml file that you can then use as basis for rest of your deployments.

HP changed things up. Everything you need to know is in this PDF.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04425487

Here are the highlights:
They removed the custom task sequence stuff. See table on pg 4 for all the changes. You have to create your own packages and steps. They do tell you how to do this on pg 19. If you follow these steps you will find you dont even need the Integration Kit.

If you want the kit you have to go here
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=Z7500-63235
If that link doesnt work you will have to go the long way with this one.
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/server-software/product-detail.html?oid=5390822#!tab=features
If you click the links to download, you eventually get there. You want to download "HP OneView for Microsoft System Center 7.5 ISO - Dec 2014"
In that ISO you will find the integration kits. They are still called that.
