HELP! SCUP.log Errors

My organization is currently going through an SCCM 2012 migration that I am helping out with and our Patch Admin left the organization and now I am taking over that role as well as the SCCM 2007 Admin role. SCUP 2011 was apparently working at one point, but then stopped working for whatever reason (the former Patch Admin left no documentation on any of this) and I was not made aware of prior to this person's departure. So now, I have to try and get SCUP working. Any help woud be tremendously appreciated.

Here is my environment:

  • SCCM 2007\WSUS integration installed on a physical Windows 2003 Standard SP2 (I know, old)
  • SCUP 2011 installed on a Hyper-V Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 VM

What I have done with no luck:

  • Removed and re-issued new WSUS certificate by importing it into the Trusted Publishers and Trusted Root Certification Authorities
  • Verified the necessary rights to the WSUSContent directory, as explained here: Verifying WSUS Server Settings

Do you get the same errors if you launch the SCUP console as an elevated process (right-click, run-as administrator)?

I log into the system where SCUP is installed as an admin, but I haven't ran it explicitly like that. I will try that and let you know. Thanks for responding.

That did not help.

OKAY EVERYONE, I need some help here please. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

Thanks

Hi,

Which rights does your user have on patch management in the ConfigMgr environment?

Can you check your permissions on the wsus catalogue?

Check this http://community.shavlik.com/docs/DOC-22980

I will check on that and get right back to you. Thanks for responding to my need, Michael. I appreciate it.

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.
