Grouping the data in the gantt view of any list gives an error - cannot complete action

One of our users modified the Gantt view of the tasks list and enabled grouping of the data. Once grouping is enabled the Gantt view doesn't not show up, we can't even access the page it shows "Cannot complete action" We are using WSS 3.0 Is it a known issue? Any workaround/support for this issue. Any help is highly appreciated.Manoj
