Group policies on 2003 servers
Well I went to run a rsop.msc and got some really weird items in the results. See picture. http://www.fkaa.com/repositories/y9ti45pm87/ Any clues as to why this happens? It also looks like it only happens on 2003 server not XP clients. Thanks.

Hi rick, The problem is likely due to language locale. Please check if any non-English language support is installed. For more detailed information, please refer to Windows Server 2003 newsgroup: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/serveros/win2003.mspx Hope it helps.

I have the same problem on my SCE server. I tried researching this but didn't really find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Now this shows up on every 2003 server so is this something that comes over by default? Also this wasn't an issue before installing SCE. Thanks.

Hi Rick, Please open Regional and Language Options and click language tab. Then check Install files for East Asia languages to view the entries names.Thecontainer in theRSOP.MSCdisplays the sameitemsabout error Monitor feature (Agentless Exception Monitor ) policy configurationby different language. These are localized entries after deploying application error monitoring. Hope it helps. --------------------- Regards, Jie-Feng Ren Microsoft Online Community Support

Hi Rick, 1. These strange items are actually for Error Reporting policies, which can be located under: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Error Reporting 2. It should be related to .NET Framework which installs adm files for application error reporting. Since we did not release a country specific version of .Net Framework we install the adm files for all of the languages we support. 3. In order to only see the results for US English, we can remove the following adm files under %WINDIR%\INF folder. AER_1025.ADM AER_1028.ADM AER_1029.ADM AER_1030.ADM AER_1031.ADM AER_1032.ADM AER_1035.ADM AER_1036.ADM AER_1037.ADM AER_1038.ADM AER_1040.ADM AER_1041.ADM AER_1042.ADM AER_1043.ADM AER_1044.ADM AER_1045.ADM AER_1046.ADM AER_1049.ADM AER_1053.ADM AER_1055.ADM AER_2052.ADM AER_2070.ADM AER_3076.ADM AER_3082.ADM The only AER_*.adm that needs to be there is AER_1033.adm, which is for the US country code. Hope it helps. --------------------- Regards, Jie-Feng Ren Microsoft Online Community Support
