Group by Expand/Collapse not working when default is collapsed
I have a custom list view where I have the list items Group by xxx If I set it to: By default, show groupings: Collapsed The word loading .... appears indefinitely when I click the expand/collapse cross If I set it to: By default, show groupings: Expanded The list view displays as expected every time and I can use the expand/collapse cross What can be causing this?

No this is not a browser issue as I can see the Grouping By works correctly on other site collections in this web application. The issue is only appearing in my site collection. I have tried creating very simple lists with 2-3 columns and only 1 or 2 items with standard SP columns e.g. Title, etc and it doesn't work either. So it doesn't seem to be my custom site columns. It's any list or any Doc library. Is there some setting I missed?

this is quite normal open the list in SPD, when ull see the code ull see the javascript for it the list populates when u click the collapse button it does this everytime u press it that is why the loading occurs it actually reads all the items in the list on that event occurance no matter how many items u put in...u can also try ur custom jquery script it will react the same

Hi talhak The problem is that it stays permanently loading and the list item never shows. This is only happening in my site collection not in other collections on the same web app. The list items never get displayed, even after >5 mins the loading is still on screen. All the columns are standard.

Yes, it was a problem with the masterpage, and it was missing javascript I believe.
