Grant permission to approve requests?
Hi, I feel like I'm missing some documentation or something so sorry if this is a silly question. I'd like to allow an adminstrator user the ability to approve requests that were assigned to other users and are still in the Pending state. Is this possible? Thank you for any help. Sami

Bump.... Can anyone chime in on this? I have a situation where I may need an answer here as well.

If the group is owned by a group, and the Administrator was part of that group, it could be done. See this thread for a discussion on how to let a group own a group. Without the Administrator being an owner directly or indirectly by group membership, I don't know if there would be a good way to do this. It could involve a custom authorization workflow process but I wouldn't know the first thing about how to implement that. I am also interested in this scenario and hope that someone else can share their experience. Chris

Hi Chris, Thank you for the suggestion. I just gave it a try in my lab environment and it worked, but it's a little unexpected in one respect. I created an Approval group and an Administrator group. The owner of the Approval group is the Administrator group. I triggered the approval workflow and got the "Pending approval" message. However, when I log in as Administrator, I don't see the request in the "Approve Requests" area. It is in the "Manage my Requests" area though. Thank you for your help! Sami

I think I may have made an incorrect assumption. The scenario I had in mind was that you were approving a change to group membership. That would also be your scenario if it was the "Approval Group" that had a pending membership change that was waiting to be approved by the Administrator group. If your Approval group was actually a group of people that could approve whatever other request it was (unrelated to the membership of the Approval group) then I am not entirely suprised that your results were unexpected. I do find your outcome interesting, however. Thank you for sharing the results! Chris
