Grant Help Desk staff view access to all site collections

In SharePoint Online, I'd like to be able to give our Help Desk staff access to all Site Collections/Sites in our tenant. I could add them as Site Collection Admins individually (about 6 users), but this would be laborious to maintain, and would provide them more access than needed. Is there a way to create a group, add those users to the group, and give the group View to the entire Site Collection and all sites within that collection?

Hi cflbasser,

In SharePoint Online, permission for each site collection is managed separately. The simple way to achieve your requirements are the following steps:

1. Manage Help Desk staff in a single AD group.

2. Sync the AD group to Office 365 and SharePoint Online.

3. Create a PowerShell script for granting view permission of site collections to the AD group.

4. Schedule the PowerShell script to run or manually run it whenever create a new site collection.
