Getting an error while trying to reset a password
I'm in the process of setting up a FIM 2010 POC at a client site. Everything is working fine except for the password reset process. I have installed FIM several times before with no issues. (I was at least able to work through the issues with a couple of searches here) The registration process works fine. When I go to reset the password I get all the way to the point of entering and confirming the new password. Then I get the standard "An error occurred when attempting to reset your password, please try again.". I have tried increasing the timeout value in the PwdMgmtProxy.exe.config file. (This fixed the issue at a previous customer) I have also set the logging level to Verbose. After that I received this error: <E2ETraceEvent xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2004/06/E2ETraceEvent"><System xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2004/06/windows/eventlog/system"><EventID>3</EventID><Type>3</Type><SubType Name="Error">0</SubType><Level>2</Level><TimeCreated SystemTime="2010-03-25T20:46:14.7021250Z" /><Source Name="Microsoft.ResourceManagement" /><Correlation ActivityID="{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}" /><Execution ProcessName="PwdMgmtProxy" ProcessID="356" ThreadID="7" /><Channel /><Computer>XPWORK</Computer></System><ApplicationData>Microsoft.ResourceManagement: Microsoft.ResourceManagement.WebServices.Faults.ServiceFaultException: The endpoint could not dispatch the request. ……. </ApplicationData></E2ETraceEvent> The workstation OS in this case is Windows XP SP2 32bit. I appreciate any help that this group can give me. Thanks, MarkMark Creekmore - Blue Chip Consulting Group

Yes, it fails every time. I have a couple of log files with the exact same results. I don't see anything unusual in the server logs. How do I increase the logging level on the server? Thanks, MarkMark Creekmore - Blue Chip Consulting Group

Everything is working at this point. I just uninstalled everything, then reinstalled over top of the same DBs. I wouldn't think that would do much, but it works, so I'm good. :-) Thanks, MarkMark Creekmore - Blue Chip Consulting Group

Believe me, that server was rebooted and services stopped and restarted many times before the re-install. :-) Thanks for your help, MarkMark Creekmore - Blue Chip Consulting Group
