HI First of all i am very new to FIM and setting up a lab environment to demo the new features. Followed the FIM evaluation guide to sync the user account to AD and my standard user can log in to the FIM identity management portal but can't update their profile information all boxes are inactive. Since I followed the evaluation guide I think I have enabled all required MPR's so any help on this is highly appreciated. tks.

Hi, By default User cannot read resources in the Portal. According the evaluation guide I suppose you enable the MPR called "User management: User can read selected attributes of their own", this permit User to view thier account, but not to modify values. To permit User to update thier profile you must create a MPR with following parameters: DisplayName: User management: Users can update selected attributes of their own Requestors (relative to resource): ResourceID Operation: Add a value to a multivalued attribute, Remove a value from a multivalued attribute, modify a single-valued attribute Permissions: Grant permission Target Resource Before/After Request (same): All People Resource Attributes: the list you want to permit If you are not aware of what attributes to select I recommand you to copy paste the list of attributes from the existing MPR "User management: User can read selected attributes of their own", to do this edit the MPR, go to Advanced View and Extended Attributes and select all attributes in Action Parameter box. Pay attention that doing this you autorize Users to edit all attributes of their own they manage to view. Hope this helps Fabrice
