General Questions about SCCM 2007
hello Guys , A few questions for you, Can the BITS throttling rate be altered for individual sites or does the one setting apply to all.Why do we still have to manually approve host names, although its set to automatically approve trusted domains " what do i need to check ?" Can SCCM discover printers? Can you deploy as bare metal build using SCCM? THANK YOU SO MUCH :) I am Supporting WP7 but please keep improving it MS.

- BITS setting: Depends on your defintion of "site". Each primary site has its own settings so if you are refering to primary sites, then yes. If you are refering to any other kind of site, then the answer is not by ConfigMgr. However, BITS isn't a ConfigMgr component and so can be controlled externally to ConfigMgr using Group Policy. - Don't know. Can you please describe what you are doing and seeing more thoroughly. Are you refering to clients being N/A or unapproved? - Once again, it depends. Are you talking about network printers or local printers? Network printers can be discovered through Network Discovery and local printers can be inventoried (discovery is something different) by extending the hardware inventory: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/configmgrinventory/thread/d28b60e1-4906-4225-877e-579eda41ba89 . In neither case can you "manage" printers though. - If you mean "can you deploy operating systems to bare metal systems?", then yes, no problem. You can use either PXE or boot media to intiate Operating System Deployment. Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com

Thank you Jason Basically when a new host name is joined to the domain SCCM then picks up this hostname it is supposed to be pre approved but it still requires manual approval. This doesnt happen all the time. Is it a case where a PC is not switched on for a period of time it automatically goes to N/A status?I am Supporting WP7 but please keep improving it MS.
