Friendly urls for intranet sites
I have Moss 2007 SP2 installed I have two sites http://intranet &http://intranet:9999 now i want http://intranet to point to say ”http://helloworld.com’ and http://intranet:9999 to sayhttp://letsdo.helloworld.com .I need them as user friendly urls for intranet users .will really appreciate any help on thishttp://mykbdump.blogspot.com/

If you're trying to acheive what I think you're trying to do, You'll need an alternate access url for both the sites and new host records in DNS. That said until you change the http://intranet:9999 site to use port 80 instead of 9999 you're always going to have to append the port number to the end of the URL.

Hi, you can approach this by creating A Record in your DNS helloworld.com and letsdo.helloworld.com and point them to the web frontend server IP Change alternate access mapping in Sharepoint http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263208(office.12).aspx add binding to your iis site (each site to it's corrsponding IIS helloworld.com and letsdo.helloworld.com ) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753195(WS.10).aspx Best Regards Mina Fouad
