Free or Open Source Software with MSi Installers

Hello, do you know any free or open source software installers that has a msi ? Like 7Zip, QuickTime, or DisplayFusion ?

I am testing software installation via sccm 2012

I am testing installation to win xp, win 7 and win 8. Although, i need a light software

Well if you want to test software installation it would be good to test more than simple MSI.

MSI are probably the easiest of all the install. i would go with Java this will teach you out to extract a MSI from a EXE.

You could do a simple exe like notepad ++

you could try with adobe reader using the transform to get a exe + MSP

I would also test out a script to install a software and maybe copy some config file and change some reg key.

Also a good one is something like office 2013 very common and teaches you to do a config file and a admin file.

This is not really the answer to your question just my opinion people focus on MSI to often and forget not everything is a MSI and not everything can be converted to MSI. Some time you will get software that require a lot of touch after copying files over changing some reg key and so on. So please test with all of the above and will give you a good start.

All the software above all have plenty of nice tutorial on the web for them.

use the adobe reader. import the msi file and all is set up automatically.
