Format/Diskpart/Wipe a Disk at end of Task Sequence after Capture Image

Hi,

I have a Task Sequence for each Windows Workstation and Server OS in the reference image deployment share. Each Task Sequence builds a reference image and on completion automatically moves the captured WIM into the correct Operating System folder of the production build deployment share. This way new production builds have an up to date and patched image.

Of course each time you want to recreate a reference image you need to "press any key" on boot so that it boots off the ISO for the reference image deployment share because the C: drive already exists.

I want to avoid the "press any key" message so that it boots straight from the ISO. To achieve this I need to run a diskpart clean process to remove the MBR. So I've added a task to do this at the very end of the Task Sequence when WinPE is still running. It actually works and achieves what I want but the Task Sequence hangs at that point and never completes because it's expecting C: drive to be present.

Is there a way around this?

The purpose of this is to set a scheduled task to boot the VM and initiate a reference image update every couple of months.

Cheers,

Jeremy
