Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service error

I recently installed a large number of patches, and now am getting errors from the FIM sync service on the indexing server. The service shows as "starting" in the services applet, and the system event log shows pairs of messages:

7024 from service control manager with service specific error %%2148732962

10010 from DCOM  - server failed to register

There is also an app log event pair at the same time:

6398 from SharePoint Foundation that the execute method threw an exception

6324 from FIMSynchronization service which includes a number of "BAIL" statements

Any ideas what I can check?

Hi

For your issue:

Make sure you have the correct SPadmin accounts and all the services have the right accounts assigned.

Make sure that User Profile Synchronization Service and User Profile Service is runing.

Finally, if the issue exists, I suggest deleting the UPA and the AppPool associated with that UPA and re-create both and then start the User Profile Synch Service again.
