Font changes on PDF Export
Hello. I hope someone can help me with this. I have a report that uses a Garamond font and it renders correctly in HTML, but when the report is converted to PDF, the font changes (I believe to a variation of Arial, but that seems irrelevant). My Operations team has installed the Garamond font on both the web server as well as the Report Server, but the problem is still occurring. Please help. Thanks.

Hi James, Is the font installed on the client computer on which the PDF file is being viewed ? SSRS does not embed the fonts in the PDF file and hence it depends on the availability of the font on the local machine where the PDF file is viewed. HTH. Regards, Ashish

Yes, the font is installed on all client computers (including my own, which I have checked numerous times)as part of Windows XP. Any other ideas? Thank you for your response. James

I am posting the solution that we came up with for any poor souls that may have this problem in the future. The key step that we missed is after the font is installed on the Report Server, you need to RESTART IIS there also. Hope this helps. James

If you still can't change the font type to Garamond, you can also use a PDF editor. As the editor I am using now can change the font type. You can import the desired font type as you want. Then modify the selected text. I think is alternative choice, too.
