Fixed Table
Hi, I have created a report in SSRS that needs code behind that makes it STAY PUT. There's no way in SSRS to make this happen without code, and I'm a beginner with VB. Can someone please help or point me in the right direction? Here's an example of what I've got - I know where to put the vb code in SSRS: I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

Not sure what you are exactly looking for. Try this tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms167305%28v=sql.105%29.aspxIf you want something you've never had, you need to do something you've never done. If you believe something to be true, then one day you will be called upon to demonstrate that truth.

Paul, I know how to create reports (this is the wrong forum for SSRS). I have an existing, fully functional report that just needs CODE for one of the CONTROLS (it's actually a TABLE). In SSRS there is no way to make a table a fixed or repeatable (repeat on every page) control, so it requires code - embedded vb.net code. I know where to put the code in an SSRS report as well, I'm just not familiar with vb to know how to WRITE the code. Thanks I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

I figured as much, its just that I don't understand what you mean by "STAY PUT". I think maybe you have been a bit vague? If you want something you've never had, you need to do something you've never done. Sorry, how about "repeating" table, to make it repeat on each and every page of the report (and not just the header). I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

Here's an example of what I've got - I know where to put the vb code in SSRS: What version of visual basic are you using, or you using a script? If you want something you've never had, you need to do something you've never done. Do you mean .net framework? It's 3.5 Or Visual Studio version? I'm using Visual Studio/BIDS 2008. I'm a newbie to vb - no formal training (yet).I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

Hi bluesky612, Thanks for you post. As I read your issue, it seems has more relationship with SSRS. For better support, I will move this thread to SQL Server Reporting Services forum. It will cost a little time to involve the members in this forum. I appreciate your patience. Sorry for any inconvenience and have a nice day.
